Ngezi Platinum Stars Chairman Leonard Musariri has expressed optimisim about the club’s future following the recent appointment of Takesure Chiragwi as substantive Head Coach.

“ The executive is quite excited, ever since he took over from coach Benji as interim coach he managed to produce quite a number of impressive results, he managed to push our team forward to finish in 4^th position which was unexpected considering the levels that had gone down so are quite excited that the board sat down and appointed a substantive head coach, we have a lot of potential and a future with him”.

With the club searching for it’s first Psl title since gaining promotion in 2015 Musariri believes the appointment of Chiragwi will help the club compete for honours, “We want to compete, and obviously in a competition you just don’t want to compete but you want to compete for first position, for us to be number one but look we are looking at a very young coach with a very young squad so obviously we will see as we go ahead”.

Apart from the positive results brought in by Chiragwi Musariri believes the need for continuity was a key ingredient in the club’s decision to opt for Chiragwi as substantive head coach, “As a club we are bringing in a big vision, the vision is continuity coming from the grassroots if you look at the last matches that we played you will note that he was using talent that he had trained from the under 19’s developmental side which is the vision of the club. Having served as assistant coach to other coaches that have since left the club, obviously it has provided a lot of stability and we believe and trust that he is going to put up a strong squad of assistants that are going to assist him in a better way that is going to help him develop further” said Musariri.
