Ngezi Platinum has gone on an impressive run in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League and one of the central; characters in Madamburo’s resurgence has been seasoned midfielder Farai Madhanaga.
After moving to Mhondoro from South African side Marumo Gallants, Farai Madhanaga is enjoying Ngezi Platinum’s current impressive run of 4 consecutive wins and 5 games without defeat.
Speaking to Ngezi Platinum Stars TV following Thursday’s training session Madhanaga said, “I am happy to be in Mhondoro, when I came things were not moving too well but things are now going on well looking at our current run of 5 matches without tasting defeat. I am looking forward to more success, when I came the morale was a bit low but with unity of purpose the team is starting to produce positive results which is a good thing”.
Having had previous stints with Flame Lilly, Harare City and FC Platinum Madhanaga is looking to make use of his experience so as to help Ngezi Platinum Stars attain it’s ambitions.
With several young players having graduated from the Ngezi under 19 side and into the first team, the gritty midfielder is elated with the opportunity of sharing knowledge and helping guide some of the younger players, “Yes some of them are still young but the good thing is that they listen to advice. I am happy that they are humble enough to listen, but I also benefit because there are also new things that I have been learning from the younger players”.
Farai Madhanaga is expected to again play a key role when Ngezi Platinum face Harare City in an important game which is slated for the National Sports Stadium on Saturday.
