Ngezi Platinum Stars F.C nicknamed MADAMBURO is a Zimbabwean Premier league team which hails from Turf in Mhondoro – Ngezi. The team’s home ground is Baobab Stadium.

Our history

2001 - 2004

Ngezi Platinum Stars (NPS) F.C. formerly known as Ngezi Sporto F.C. started playing social soccer in 2001 and was at that time sponsored by MCC (Open Cast Contractor). However, in 2004 the club started playing competitive soccer and qualified to join the ZIFA Mash West Division 2B.

2008 - 12

In January 2008, the Club changed its name to Ngezi Platinum Stars (NPS) F.C. to realign with the business of its major sponsor, Zimplats.

Winning the league title in the Mash West Division 2B league – (2013) and promotion to NRSL Division 1

2013 - 2014

The Club was promoted into Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) Division 1 after clinching the title in the Mash West Division 2B league at the end of the 2013 soccer season. The team in its debut year (2014) in Division 1 surprised everyone by clinching the YADAH TV knock tournament Cup and finished in 5th position on the log standings.

2015

The following year in 2015 the team continued on its path of good performance by securing an unmatched record of 23 games with no defeat. The team managed to clinch the title with 6 games still in hand.

Winning the league title in NRSL Division 1 league – (2015) and getting promoted into Premier Soccer League.

2016

Ngezi Platinum Stars F. C entered the prestigious premier soccer league in 2016 following a very successful two seasons Division one. It is currently one of the few teams in Zimbabwe to own its own Stadium, Baobab Stadium which was constructed in 2016.

The team won the Chibuku Super Cup in its maiden season in 2016 and finished a strong 7th position. Following this victory, the team represented the country at the CAF tournament. That exposure to continental soccer has been useful in providing the foundation building a strong team for the domestic league.
